Aldeanueva del Camino is a municipality located in the province of Cáceres, Extremadura. The origins of this town date back to Roman times when it was founded as one of the military camps along the Vía de la Plata.
After the Reconquest, due to its strategic location, it became one of the border towns that marked the frontiers of the kingdoms of Castilla y León.
Throughout its history, Aldeanueva del Camino has been an important witness to historical events such as the expulsion of the Jews, the passage of Napoleonic troops during the War of Independence, when it was burnt and sacked, and the Carlist Wars.
