Medina de las Torres is a municipality located in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura. Its origins date back to the pre-Roman era when it was known as Ugultianacum. The Roman settlement of Contributa has also been located here.
In the 13th century, the present town was founded by the knight Martín Anes do Vinhal. In the 19th century, following the fall of the Old Regime, it became an independent constitutional municipality.
Silent witnesses to its long history are the various and diverse archaeological remains and monuments, such as the remains of the Roman city of Contributa and its churches.
